On September 16-19th, 2011 the 5th Russian Judo Grand Masters Championships were held in Lipetsk, Russia. The organizer of this event is the National Veteran Judo Union.

The goals of the Championships are to determine the strongest athletes to be further included into the National selected team of Russia 2011-2012 to participate in European and World Championships, as well as other international veteran competitions; promotion of judo and healthy lifestyle, bringing the athletes who have already finished their sport career back to tatami.

 

This year the competitions have gathered 295 participants from 44 regions of Russia. Within 2 days 49 sets of awards have been played among male athletes as well as 5 ones - among the female athletes.
